Big Sky To Provide New Summer Options

BIG SKY, MT. - Big Sky Resort is pleased to announce new summer lift and dining options for the upcoming season.  Enjoy the scenery and wildflowers from a new place this summer. Andesite Mountain will be serviced by the Ramcharger chairlift.  Ramcharger will run daily from 9:45 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. for mountain biking and scenic chairlift rides. Mountain operations will be performing upgrades for winter on the Swift Current Chairlift beginning in June and it will therefore not be in use this summer. 

 Andesite Mountain offers a wide variety of hiking and biking options from beginner to extreme and new trails will be opened as the summer continues.  Mountain biking in and around the Big Sky area offers miles of back-country scenery, wildflowers, wildlife, and few human encounters. Chairlift access, forest roads and specialized trails provide off-pavement, out-of-traffic experiences.

 "With the upgrades on the Swift Current Chair lift this summer some of the trails on Lone Peak will not be accessible, however Ramcharger is sure to provide the same spectacular views and  adreneline pumping downhill and freeride terrain on less rocky soil for the mountain bikers,"  said Dax Schieffer, Big Sky Resort spokeperson.  "Bikers and hikers will no doubt be excited by the new terrain options to explore."

 Take a scenic lift ride to access the 8,800 foot peak of Andesite and begin to hike or just hop off, enjoy the view, and ride the chair back down.  There are hundreds of easily accessible acres to explore at Big Sky Resort, all the while taking in the geology, plant life, wildlife and serenity of the mountains.

 After a day of hiking and biking make sure to stop by Adiamo Italian Grille for amazing food and great company. Andiamo in the new Village Center features delicious pasta dishes and entrees in an eclectic Tuscan atmosphere. Andiamo is open daily for lunch and dinner. Call 406-995-8041 to make your dinner reservation or just stop in for a drink after checking out the scenery.   Sit down inside or have you meal on the plaza and enjoy the Big Sky sunshine. Andiamo opens for the summer on June 11.
