Big Sky, Mont. (May 6, 2014) - Big Sky Resort was awarded the 2014 Best Resort Terrain by the visitors to OnTheSnow.com in the Visitor's Choice Awards (VCA). Great terrain, consistent snow and non-existent lift lines are a few of the attributes which continually give Big Sky Resort top rankings.

Big Moon Rising Music Festival Brings the Funk to Big Sky Resort

July 22, 2014

Big Sky, Mont. (July 23, 2014) - Big Sky Resort gets funky for their annual Labor Day music festival newly named, Big Moon Rising, August 29-31, 2014 featuring The Family Stone and presented by Lehrkinds Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

Bring on the funk kicks off Friday, August 29th on the main Mountain Village stage with opening act Andrew Gromiller and the Organically Grown with their vocal-powered rhythm and blues mixed into some serious funk and soul. Then Dumpstaphunk busts on stage for an unforgettable live performance steeped in hard-hitting New Orleans groove featuring Ivan Neville on vocals, B3 and Clav, the double bass attack and soulful voices of Tony Hall and Nick Daniels III, Ian Neville on guitar, and the monster addition of Nikki Glaspie on drums and vocals. Boogie into Whiskey Jack's for the after party with Cure for the Common armed with an arsenal of original funk rock tunes.

Shake off the funk on Saturday morning, August 30th with the Big Moon Rising 5k trail challenge where the fastest male and female win a 50 dollar gift card. Starting at noon, kids take over the plaza enjoying free miniature golf, bounce house, face painting and scavenger hunt. All basecamp activities will be in full swing and live music tops off the day in the main plaza.

Saturday night explodes as Keller Williams with More Than A Little heat up the stage with their acoustic dance music also known as "jazzfunkraggaelectronicagrass" that leaves no one in their seats. Bringing down the moon is The Family Stone with founding members and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees saxophonist Jerry Martini, trumpeter Cynthia Robinson and drummer Greg Errico, bringing back the "golden era of psychedelic soul" with high energy and show stopping performance with incredible additions of bassist Blaise Sison, lead guitarist Nate Wingfield, the strong vocals of Nadia, and keyboardist/vocalist Alex Davis. It's time to get funky. The fun continues with an after party at Whiskey Jack's.

Winding down the weekend is a hearty brunch on Sunday, August 31st at the Peaks Terrace with live music.

Grice Obtains CMP Status for Big Sky Resort

December 30, 2013

Big Sky, Mont. (December 30, 2013) - Big Sky Resort's National Sales Manager, Katie Grice, is a Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) after passing the CMP program and testing, making her one of only four CMPs in Montana. The CMP certification is the highest standard of professionalism for Meeting Planner Professionals worldwide awarded by the Convention Industry Council (CIC).

In order to receive this distinction, Grice had to demonstrate her experience and education in Meeting Planning and pass a rigorous three hour exam testing her knowledge of the meeting industry, standard practices, and ethical guidelines.

Grice's CMP certification provides Big Sky Resort's Yellowstone Conference Center a higher distinction among Meeting Planners knowing the Resort operates at the same high standard of professionalism. Grice is the only Montana CMP representing a venue. "I wanted to pave the way for our Resort to go beyond what others do," said Grice "and with this certification I can serve our clients even better."

Big Sky Resort hosts hundreds of major conferences each year ranging from certified continuing education courses for medical and legal (CME & CLE) to large corporate and association events. The Resort's Yellowstone Conference Center caters a variety of meeting sizes and types from 25 to 750 attendees. The versatile meeting facilities include the Lone Peak Pavilion outdoor reception venue and the new Moonlight Lodge facility for spectacular receptions. Lodging throughout the Resort ranges from basic to luxury accommodations for up to 2,000 guests.

The facilities and services offered at Big Sky ensure productive meetings, scheduling efficiency, festive banquets and, most importantly, satisfied attendees. Big Sky's meeting and convention clientele have been coming back to Big Sky Resort for up to 35 years, speaking volumes to the high level of consistent excellent service. This is one of the reasons Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) chose Big Sky Resort as the host venue for APEC 2011. The professional staff is experienced in planning and executing memorable, productive events, as high-end as hosting the President and Vice President of the United States.
