Big Sky Videographer Wins Outside Bozeman Video Award
June 15, 2012
BIG SKY, MT - Big Sky Resort videographer and multimedia coordinator Chris Kamman is the 2012 winner of Outside Bozeman magazine's Best Outdoor Video award for his submission Shapeshifters. Kamman used time lapses of summer activities and scenes all around Big Sky to create his winning, personally produced video.
"I love capturing how otherworldly the landscape here can be," said Kamman. "But I also wanted to show how integrated that landscape is in our mountain town culture. I wanted to show how people interact with and experience the environment here."
In addition to time lapses showing dramatic weather changes over Lone Peak and stars moving in the night sky, Shapeshifters includes footage of Big Sky locals fly fishing, kayaking, and camping.
"Chris is a master at capturing the essence of Big Sky on film," said Meg O'Leary, Big Sky Resort Sales and Marketing Director. "Whether it's a ski video for Big Sky Resort or a personally produced video, Chris' work gives viewers a glimpse into what Big Sky is all about."
In the summer, that includes close-up wildlife encounters, outdoor river and mountain activities, and beautiful nights spent under the stars or around a campfire. "Big Sky is often thought of as a winter destination," said O'Leary. "Shapeshifters shows how truly amazing Big Sky is during the summer months."
