Giant Swing A New Summer Adventure in Big Sky Resort Base Area

June 01, 2012

BIG SKY, Mont. - Big Sky Resort's Basecamp is adding yet another adventure activity to its roster this summer: the Giant Swing located in the Mountain Village. For $12 per ride, the Giant Swing hoists participants 25 feet in the air before swinging them 60 feet across the plaza lawn.

Just 18 miles from the national park, Big Sky Resort is known as the Basecamp to Yellowstone and home to the Yellowstone Conference Center. With numerous lodging options, access to Yellowstone, and summer activities already ranging from ziplining to the Lone Peak Expedition tram to the top of Lone Peak, Big Sky's Giant Swing is yet another facet to the Resort's lively summer operations.

"Our Bungee Trampoline has been extremely popular, but there's a low weight limit that restricts the experience to kids" said Christine Baker, Big Sky Resort Basecamp Program Manager. "The Giant Swing will offer a similarly exciting experience to teens and adults at the same price."

Guests interested in taking a ride on the giant swing can sign up in Big Sky's Basecamp building in the Mountain Village. Just outside, the Giant Swing is located between the Basecamp building and the Shoshone pool. Guests can swing one or two people at a time.

"As the Basecamp to Yellowstone, Big Sky already has so many great summer activities," said Big Sky Resort Sales and Marketing Director, Meg O'Leary "The Giant Swing is yet another way families can enjoy Big Sky's Plaza."
