Michael Franti Plays Second Annual Spruce Moose Music Festival
BIG SKY, Mont. - Big Sky Resort is excited to announce the second annual Spruce Moose Festival slated for Labor Day Weekend 2012. The music festival, including concerts from Michael Franti and Spearhead and The Whigs, will create a weekend of big-name live music and festivities at Big Sky Resort.
The Spruce Moose Festival will feature Michael Franti and Spearhead on Saturday, September 1st. An American musician and composer, Franti blends hip hop, funk, reggae, jazz, folk, and rock. His latest album, The Sound of Sunshine, debuted at #17 on the Billboard 200.
The Spruce Moose festival will take place in Big Sky Resort's scenic Mountain Village and is presented by Big Sky Resort in conjunction with Town Square Media. The inaugural Spruce Moose in 2011 brought in over 3,000 people to see headliners Big Head Todd and the Monsters and the John Butler Trio. Spruce Moose 2012 will mark Michael Franti's first ever show in Big Sky, and the resort expects to draw even bigger crowds in the festival's second year.
"Michael Franti is arguably the biggest name to ever play Big Sky Resort," said Public Relations Manager Chad Jones. "After a successful first Spruce Moose last year, Big Sky and Town Square Media are taking the music festival to the next level."
