New York-Bozeman Non-stop Service Extended Through 2012/2013 Winter Season
BIG SKY, Mont. - After a successful summer start with the non-stop flight from New York/Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN), Bozeman confirmed that the United Airlines non-stop flight service will continue during the 2012/2013 winter season.
A short 45-minute drive from Big Sky, MT; the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport provides easy access to Big Sky Resort, Montana the Biggest Skiing in America and the Basecamp to Yellowstone National Park. Located 14 miles from Manhattan, the New York/Newark Liberty International Airport serves the entire New York-New Jersey metropolitan area. The United Airlines flights will operate Saturdays from December 22nd, 2012 through March 30th, 2013.
"New York is one of our biggest winter markets, we are excited to continue to offer this flight through the 2012/2013 ski season," said Meg O'Leary, Big Sky Resort Director of Sales and Marketing. "The Biggest Skiing in America will now be more easily accessible to east coast skiers and snowboarders.
The summer and winter seasonal EWR non-stops were made possible by contributions from Big Sky Resort as well as other community partners from Big Sky and Bozeman in conjunction with the Department of Transportation Small Community Air Service Development Grant (SCASDG).
The newly renamed and expanded Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport recorded an all-time passenger boarding record with 397,822 passengers boarding airline flights in 2011. This represents an 8.9% increase than the previous record set in 2010.
Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport provides direct flight service to the major hubs of Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and Seattle as well as other airports such as Phoenix, Minneapolis, Portland, Las Vegas, Oakland, and San Francisco. The recent expansion makes it the largest airport in Montana; served by Alaska/Horizon, Allegiant, Delta/SkyWest, Frontier, and United/United Express airlines.
