December 18, 2013
Big Sky, Mont. (December 18, 2013) - Women will converge on Big Sky as SheJumps announces Big Sky Resort as their rocky mountain region destination for „Get the Girls Out! Big Sky Lady Shred‟ day on January 3, 2014 from 9 am to 5 pm. Women of all ages and ability levels are encouraged to join the one day SheJumps event.
"Get the Girls Out" program helps connect girls and women as they support, challenge, mentor and inspire each other through outdoor activities. In 2006, professional skier, Lynsey Dyer co-founded SheJumps, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to increasing women‟s participation in outdoors.
Ladies can register online or day of the event at the Mountain Mall in the Mountain Village area of Big Sky Resort; cost is $20 to participate. Regional SheJumps representative and Bozeman native, Cristy Watson will lead the charge at 10am for a day of women‟s camaraderie skiing and snowboarding with an après ski party at Whiskey Jack‟s starting at 3:30pm.
"I am stoked to be bringing the SheJumps passion and excitement to Big Sky, a town that elicits the same emotions in so many skiers and snowboarders!," said Cristy Watson, SheJumps Regional Coordinator. "It‟s going to be an amazing experience to spend a day on Lone Peak with all the amazing women that call Big Sky their home or ski destination."
"These Get the Girls Out! events are about raising the collective excitement and energy for what it means to be a female snowsports enthusiast," said Lynsey Dyer, SheJumps co-founder. "We just believe in fostering the spirit, and to do that you don't have to be a pro--because the best skier is the one having the most fun!"
The Big Sky Resort will be hosting a three day Women‟s Clinic the following week, January 9-11, 2014. Ladies can sign up the same day as „Get the Girls Out! Big Sky Lady Shred‟ day and receive a 15% discount on the Big Sky Resort Women‟s Clinic. Lead by Brenna Kelleher, PSIA instructor and former NCAA ski racer for Montana State University, the Women‟s Clinic is designed to help woman advance from intermediate skiers to advance skiers tackling terrain off-piste and on Lone Peak.
