Heather McPhie Fundraiser at Big Sky Resort
Big Sky,Mont. (December 10, 2013) - 2014 Olympic hopeful, Heather McPhie, will be at Big Sky Resort December 21, 2013 between 4:30pm and 7pm in the Talus Room at the Summit Hotel for a reception fundraiser to help her reach her Olympic dreams. McPhie is a member of the U.S Freestyle Ski Team and Big Sky Resort's 2013/14 Athlete Ambassador. She is a favorite to qualify and compete in the women's freestyle moguls event at the Sochi Olympic Games February 2014 representing her country and native Montana.
Big Sky Resort invites the public to meet Heather and support her dream of Olympic gold. The après ski event will begin with a limited edition McPhie poster and Mountain Outlaw Magazine autograph signing. Afterwards guests will have the opportunity to speak with Heather during a relaxed question-and-answer session. Enjoy music, spirits and appetizers courtesy of The Peaks at Big Sky Resort and bid on thousands of dollars of silent auction items including a four night stay at the Village Center from Bozeman Audi, a Yellowstone snowcoach tour for two from Yellowstone Vacations and a night stay at The Eagle's Nest from McPhie Cabinetry and much more. All guests will receive a gift bag and are automatically entered to win a variety of door prizes from Big Sky Resort and other event sponsors. Tickets are $25 at the door.

Heather will be donating a portion of the proceeds to two of her favorite local charities: Big Sky Youth Empowerment and Eagle Mount. Always one to remember where she came from, this is Heather's way of supporting the community that has supported her dream throughout the years. Both Big Sky Youth Empowerment and Eagle Mount will be on hand to share in the event and inform guests of the valuable services they provide our area at risk youth and disabled athletes.
Heather McPhie, freestyle mogul skier, has five qualifying events leading up to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, and the Olympic team will be announced no later than January 24th. In 2013, McPhie had five World Cup podiums with three first place finishes, defended her National title, and finished the season ranked 3rd overall on the World Cup tour. She is the first woman to complete backfull and d-spin in the same run at the World Championships in Voss, Norway. Heather is a native Montanan born and raised in Bozeman.
