Big Sky Resort Introduces New Ski App
February 06, 2013
BIG SKY, Mont. - Big Sky resort is excited to unveil Big Sky Resort, a smart phone app that lets you track elevation, and vertical feet at Big Sky Resort, as well as stats like max speed, and miles of terrain covered. Users can view their ski progress on a map of Lone Peak, as well as share and compare stats with friends on Facebook. The free application is now available for download on iPhone and Android, at the app store under the Skiplan Lumiplan Montagne Developer title.
The User can get up-to-date information concerning which lifts and runs are open and closed and the daily grooming report. It also provides practical information, such as toilets, mountain restaurants, and mountain safety offices. GPS technology allows users to find their current location on the map and a direct link to Ski Patrol can provide them with location information as well. In the summer, ski runs are replaced with mountain biking and hiking trails.
In addition to tracking ski day stats, skiers and riders can also find their friends on the mountain and see where they are on the trail map. An innovative search feature lets guests find upcoming events and look for a specific lift or retail location. Skier and riders can access real time status and upload photos and updates directly to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. At the end of the day, progress can be saved and shared as well.
"The Big Sky Resort app takes your ski experience to the next level," said Big Sky Marketing Director Lyndsey Owens. "It adds an extra dimension to your skiing, and it's great to be able to share with your friends the time you've put in on the mountain. Push messaging ensures that you won't miss a single event or happening as well."
