Big Sky Resort Presents 7th Annual Big Sky Big Grass Festival

BIG SKY, Mont. - Mark your calendars for the 7th Annual Big Sky Big Grass, February 8th, 9th and 10th, 2013. Traditionally held over the President's Weekend, the fest has moved one week earlier this year.

"The new dates should provide more available hotel rooms at Big Sky Resort for festival attendees," Steve Merlino, festival organizer, says. "It will also allow the opportunity to get the Big Grass Music Camp off the ground. The BSBG Music Camp will feature instrument workshops, as well as songwriting, publishing, and recording seminars."

Line-ups and schedules for the popular 3 day festival are out and will headline the Del McCoury Band and the Sam Bush Band over the weekend. Other performances will include Emmitt-Nershi Band, Traveling McCourys, The Special Consensus and Pete Kartsounes Band. Local area bands will be performing throughout the weekend kicking off with a Regional Band Showcase on Friday evening 4:30p-8:30p in the Missouri Ballroom. Five bands from Big Sky, Bozeman, Billings and Missoula will perform in the showcase. At the showcase, will-call will be open to secure your wristbands for the weekend, check out bluegrass merchandise and memorabilia, mingle with artists and industry professionals and visit the Big Grass Libation Station. The station will be offering tastes of many fine beverages from New Belgium Brewery, Georges Wine Distributors and much more. Don't miss this kickoff reception happening prior to the Friday Night Shows at Whiskey Jack's.

Big Sky Big Grass kicks off with the first Big Grass Music Camp February 7th and 8th and will feature guitar, mandolin, bass, and banjo workshops as well as a seminars on songwriting and on live performances.
