Big Sky, Mont. (June 12, 2013) - Mountain Biking will open Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Big Sky Resort offering the area's only lift accessible downhill trails from the Swift Current chair lift in the Mountain Village. The chair lift operates from 10:00am - 3:30pm every day, weather permitting.
Majority of the resort's 15 mountain bike trails will be open, although Tango Trees and Nameless trails will be closed due to early conditions. "The bike crew has been putting in some hours to make sure the trails are rolling solid after a long winter" said Dylan Hall, Retail Manager of Different Spokes Bike Shop. The popular Sole Hole trail is ready and waiting for riders.
Different Spokes Bike Shop, in the Mountain Village, has a brand new fleet of Specialized Status 2 full suspension downhill bikes for rent. Cross-country bikes and protective equipment are also available for rent.
All of Big Sky's lift accessed mountain biking are intermediate to advanced downhill trails. Trails are not patrolled and the terrain is steep and rocky; personal protective equipment is advised. It is the rider's responsibility to inspect the terrain and understand the terrain might change due to weather and use.
