Big Sky, Mont. (Dec. 12, 2016) - Big Sky Resort now has one more north face to love.

On Sat., Dec. 17, Big Sky Resort will host a grand opening event at the new The North Face store, located on the first floor of the Village Center, with special guests: The North Face athletes Conrad Anker and Mike Wolfe, both of Bozeman.

Anker is a world-renown mountaineer and climber most well-known for his summits in Antarctica, the high Himalayas and three ascents of Mount Everest. He is the captain of The North Face Athlete Team and was featured in a film documenting his 2011 ascent of the Shark's Fin on 20,700-foot Mount Meru with climbers Jimmy Chin and Renan Ozturk.

Mike Wolfe, a member of The North Face team for a decade, has raced in more than 100 ultra-distance mountain races around the world, and has placed in the top three at three of the most prestigious ones: The Western States 100 in California, The Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc, and The North Face 50-mile Championship. Wolfe is not only co-director of The Rut Mountain Runs, a series of mountain races held at Big Sky Resort each Labor Day, but recently ran 600 miles from Missoula, Mont., to Banff across the Crown Traverse.

Big Sky Resort will show films documenting each of these athletes' recent epic adventures beginning at 6 p.m. The 10-minute "Crown Traverse: 600 Mile Mountain Journey," will show before the 90-minute "Meru." Both Wolfe and Anker will give presentations prior to these films. Tickets for this event will be available in the new The North Face store during the day. Seating is limited but admission is free.

Also in the store, beginning at 3p.m., there will be complimentary cheese and wine served. Anker and Wolfe will sign posters in the store from 3:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. There will be a raffle of The North Face prizes - no purchases necessary to win, and people need not be present to win. Customers can enter the raffle in the store during the day.

Also, the first 50 customers to make purchases on Dec. 17 will receive a free The North Face gift of $20 value or more.

The North Face store is located next to the Burton store in the Mountain Village. The brand store will feature the latest in technical and lifestyle gear. Store hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.
