Childcare with Ski Lessons
The Lone Peak Playhouse will dress your child for their lesson & a ski instructor from the Big Sky Snowsports School will pick up and drop off your child at our door. Please have your child at the Playhouse at least 20 minutes prior to lesson time. If your child's ski lesson begins or ends before or after our childcare please be prepared to meet your child with their instructor at ski school's gathering area. Child ski, boot and helmet rentals are available in the Snowcrewst Lodge at Big Sky Resort's rental shop.
Lone Peak Playhouse believes that children deserve a vacation too. Our Playhouse offers a caring, safe and fun environment where children can play, rest and enjoy their day. Our different-themed play areas will keep them busy for hours and also spark their imagination and creativity. Lone Peak Playhouse always follows appropriate practices and uses positive guidance and positive reinforcement to encourage and foster personal development.
What to Bring
Each child will be given a small cubby for his/her belongings. All children should bring an extra change of clothes, a warm jacket, snow pants, boots, warm hat and waterproof gloves or mittens. Children wearing diapers should bring at least four disposable diapers for a full day. The playhouse will supply wipes, but please bring any diaper creams or pastes. Children planning to attend ski lessons need to have all appropriate ski gear. Our days will include teacher-directed play, free play, outdoor time (weather permitting), art projects, organized games, story time, and rest or quiet time. The playhouse will provide & serve three nutritious meals (for children 13 months & up): morning snack (approx. 9:15), lunch (11:30-12:15), afternoon snack (approx. 3:00). In addition to our meal selections, children may also bring alternative snacks/meals- please no peanuts, tree nuts, almond milk or nut butters. Also, please refrain from packing unnecessary candy or treats. Please note: Children arriving for PM-half day will miss our lunch-time. It is best for children only attending our PM session to eat before arriving. Infants and toddlers should bring any necessary bottles, formula, &/or baby food. The playhouse also encourages infants, toddlers and napping children to bring a naptime comfort item. Please remember to label everything with your child's full name. The Lone Peak Playhouse is not responsible for lost, broken, misplaced or stolen items.
Policies and Dismissal from Daycare
The Lone Peak Playhouse always follows appropriate early childhood development practices and policies. We focus on positive guidance techniques to encourage individual growth and group harmony. The playhouse operates in a group setting with ratios better than that required by state guidelines. To give a quality level of care to all, please understand that our teachers cannot be occupied excessively by one child at the expense of the other children. The Lone Peak Playhouse will make every attempt to create an enjoyable experience for your child, however we reserve the right to dismiss any child from our center if necessary. Refunds for children dismissed by the Lone Peak Playhouse will be determined on an individual basis.
