Where is Big Sky, Montana located?
Big Sky, Montana, USA is located in south central Montana, approximately 50 miles south of Bozeman, MT and 50 miles north of West Yellowstone, MT.
How do I get to Big Sky?
Airlines: More than 25 flights a day arrive in nearby Bozeman, Montana, on major airlines. Big Sky Central Reservations (800–548–4486) can find you the best airfares and schedules available on the various airlines that serve our area. The Airlines and Direct Flights page has more information.
Rental Cars: From Bozeman, Big Sky is a 45-minute drive on US Highway 191 through the beautiful Gallatin River Canyon. Download lodging check-in map. Shuttles: Various scheduled bus services connect the airport, Bozeman and the surrounding villages to the Resort. Driving Directions may also help you navigate the canyon to Big Sky Resort.
Luggage: We will receive our guests' additional bags, including ski bags, for only $15 per bag up with a cap of $45.00 for up to 8 bags. If you have more than 8 bags, each additional bag will be $15.00. Bags will be received and stored in the mailroom, then just notify us when you arrive and the Bell staff will deliver the bag(s) to your room. The mailroom staff will charge the guest folio. Can you suggest activities for my trip?
In addition to skiing, snowboarding, golf or mountain biking, there are many other activities you'll enjoy, ranging from evening family activities, to dining and shopping, to visits to Yellowstone National Park.

What is the weather like?
In the mountains, conditions change frequently. Pack accordingly and be prepared for the weather to be colder and warmer than you think it might be, regardless of season. Do that, and you'll likely sum up conditions in one word - FANTASTIC. During the winter months, average high temperatures range from 25-40°F, with low temperatures ranging from 7-20°F.

What is the Meadow Village? Can I get there easily?
Big Sky Resort's ski slopes, base area and lodging options are all located in the Mountain Village. The Meadow Village is located approx. 10 minutes away and offers additional shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Free shuttle service is available between the two villages.
Will there be enough to do?
Big Sky offers a variety of activities for the whole family.

For Winter, will the skiing be too hard?
While Big Sky offers some of the best expert and advanced terrain in the country, we also have an extensive network of beginner and intermediate terrain. Plus, with over 5,800 skiable acres spread over three mountains, learning to ski or advancing your skills will be more comfortable with all the elbow room we have to offer.
Should I rent skis or bring my own?
You may check your skis with your airline (fees vary) or ship them to Big Sky in advance, ($15 per bag with a cap of $45.00 for up to 8 bags) but many of our guests will agree that the most convenient option is to rent skis from our rental shop at the base of the slopes.
