Youth Group Lessons

At Big Sky, we strive to provide a quality learning experience in a safe and fun environment. Children are placed into groups according to the skills they demonstrate, from first timers to all mountain rippers. With an emphasis on technique, we strive to provide your child with solid skills that they will utilize throughout their skiing/snowboarding life. Please keep in mind that our instructors may decide to give the group a break, depending upon their needs. Be supportive and encouraging with your child in order for them to gain a true love and respect for the sport. All children learn at a different rate - and that's ok!

Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to lesson for registration or 1 hour prior if equipment rental is needed, allow for more time during peak season or for large groups. All children's group lessons meet on snow in our Kids Bowl.

Kids 10 and under ski free all day with lesson. Free lift ticket applies to day(s) in which that child is enrolled in lessons. Please inquire at Mountain Sports School for more information or to enroll your child in a lesson.

Lesson rates are per person and non-transferable. Please add 3% tax. Rates and tax are subject to change.

If your child or youth are not familiar with riding a chair lift, please be sure to read the NSAA's Kid Safety page, Kids on Lifts. Children 4-6 may ride a chair lift with an instructor or an adult volunteer, additionally, children 7 and older may ride a chair lift alone or with another child. Not all chair lifts have lap bars.

Mini Skier Camp

Mini Ski Camp has a smaller child per instructor ratio during the lesson. Within the group, children are placed in ski lessons according to the skills they demonstrate. This camp is tailored specifically to the physical and emotional learning needs of younger children. With our flexible daily schedule you can choose to have your child with us or with you during any time of the day!

Half- and full-day lessons are available and all programs can be combined with daycare. A full-day can be a lot for a youngster. To make for a more enjoyable experience, we recommend starting them off with a half-day program.
