The following weather stations are spread across Big Sky Resort's 5,800 acres and are used to measure weather patterns, including wind speed and direction, snowfall, relative humidity, temperature, and more.

Lobo Weather Station

The Lobo Weather Station site is located just below the top of the Swift Current chair at 8900’ and measures temperature, 24 hour snowfall, total snow depth and precipitation. The 24 hour snow sensor is cleared daily at 4:00pm.

Lookout Ridge Weather Station

The Lookout Ridge Weather Station measures temperature, relative humidity, 24 hour snowfall, total snow depth and precipitation at 8,950 feet. The 24 hour snow sensor is cleared daily at 4:00pm.

Summit Weather Station

The Summit Weather Station measures temperature, wind speed and direction from the summit of Lone Mountain at 11,166 feet.

Bavaria Weather Station

The Bavaria Weather Station is located near the top of the Dakota lift at 9,600 feet and measures temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, 24 hour snowfall, and total snow depth. The 24 hour snow sensor is cleared daily at 3:00pm, access permitting.

Challenger Weather Station

The Challenger Weather Station measures temperature, wind speed, and wind direction at the top of the Challenger Lift located at 9,675 feet.

Madison Base Area Station

The Madison Base Area Weather Station measures temperature at the Madison Base Area in Big Sky, Montana, elevation 7,500 feet.
