Big Sky 2025 - Guiding Principles

Big Sky 2025 is an ambitious 10-year vision transforming the Big Sky experience from the moment you touch ground in Montana to the top of Lone Peak. Inspired by the connectivity and infrastructure of the Alps and our Montana culture, improvements across the many touchpoints of the resort elevate the mountain experience for our guests and community.

Our four guiding pillars speak to the ways in which Big Sky is uniquely positioned to lead the North American mountain experience into a new era.

The Alpine Experience

Summer & Winter Improvements

Embodying the American Alps is more than having an iconic peak—it's about embracing the high alpine experience. From installing the most technologically advanced lifts accessing terrain for all levels, to enhancing on-mountain dining and facilities across the mountain, the mountain experience is more than just dramatic visuals, both in the winter and summer.

Mountain Village

The Heart of It All

After a day of skiing Big Sky Resort's massive 5,850 acres, retreating to the comforts of Mountain Village completes the ski experience. We're reimagining Mountain Village from the ground up—from major lodging renovations, new dining concepts, and retail experiences you'll only find in Big Sky.

Community

Supporting Local Partnerships

Big Sky Resort is one of many businesses and organizations that make up the Big Sky community. Ensuring that the projects at the Resort are integrating in positive and sustainable ways with our stakeholders is a core pillar of Big Sky 2025. Our stakeholders include Big Sky Resort team members, community members, investors, and guests—all of whom have valuable input in the future of Big Sky Resort. These relations result in projects like workforce housing and improved lodging for guests that take pressure off local housing markets, sustainable transportation development, and aligning on priority projects.

Connectivity

Air & Ground Transportation

Putting Big Sky on the map involves upgrading transportation capacity and infrastructure—not only for guests and visitors but for employees and operations alike. This long-term vision involves increasing air connectivity to and from the area, as well as providing more options for local transportation. Our goal is to scale transportation across different methods of travel and collaborate with local providers to support sustainable development.
