Friday, September 13 - Sunday, September 15, 2024

The Rut is a three-day mountain running festival bringing together athletes from all over the world. Designed to test all athletes, these races include several different courses – Vertical Challenge (VK), 11k, 20K, 28k, and 50k – all on the majestic Lone Mountain. ​

Due to tram construction, courses will not cover the summit of Lone Peak. Please check specific distance routes for more information. 

The 2024 Rut is SOLD OUT! There will be no waitlist. Kids 1K Runt Run is still open.

Friday, September 15

  • 8 - 10:45 a.m.: VK/20K/Trifecta packet pick-up, Vista Hall
  • 11:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.: Runt Run11k/28K/50k packet pick-up, Vista Hall
  • 10 a.m.: VK start, start line in Mountain Village
  • 11 a.m.: 20K start, start line in Mountain Village
  • 3 p.m.: VK Awards, Mountain Village Plaza
  • 4 p.m.: 20k Awards, Mountain Village Plaza
  • 5 p.m.: North Face Athlete "shake-out" run, Mountain Village. All are welcome!

    • 6:30 - 7:45 a.m.: 28k packet pick-up, Vista Hall
    • 9:15 a.m.: Swift Current open to the public for spectators (scenic ticket required)
    • 8 a.m.: 28K start, start line in Mountain Village
    • 9 a.m.: Ramcharger open to the public for spectators (scenic ticket required)
    • 10 a.m.: North Face Athlete "shake-out" run, Mountain Village. All are welcome!
    • 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.: Runt Run, 11k, 50k packet pick-up, Vista Hall
    • 4:45 p.m.: Runt Run start, start line in Mountain Village
