Tram Access Details

  • Lift ticket products, Ikon and Mountain Collective passes, and most Big Sky Resort season passes do not include Lone Peak Tram rides. Gold + Ikon Base and Gold passes have unlimited Tram rides, and Double Black Passes have 25 ski rides and 10 scenic rides pre-loaded on each individual’s pass.

Guests planning to ride the Tram without a Gold + Ikon Base, Gold, or Double Black pass must enable Autocharge and provide a form of payment on their Big Sky Resort account. To create or update account details please visit shop.bigskyresort.com.

For the 2023-24 season, Tram access will be charged per ride. Previously, the Tram was charged per day of access.

  • The per-ride cost will be set separately for skiers/snowboarders and scenic rides. Rates will be set on a daily basis dynamically based on volume, conditions, and other factors. Our current estimate is that the per-ride cost will range between $10 and $40+. Rates are posted daily and do not change throughout the day. There will be no difference in pricing for different age groups.

  • The new Lone Peak Tram will have a total capacity of 75 people. During the winter season, the capacity will be restricted based on mountain and operating conditions to preserve the experience of skiing and riding the Tram. Ski patrol will determine a safe capacity based on open terrain, conditions, and weather.

  • Operation of the Lone Peak Tram for ski & snowboard access is dependent on weather and snowpack. In an average season, the Tram opens mid-December and operates through the end of the season, with a historical average of 90 days per winter season.
