Spruce Moose Headliners Announced

Big Sky, Mont.(July 12, 2013) - Headlining the third annual Spruce Moose music festival are Ozomatli and Galactic, August 30-31, 2013 at Big Sky Resort, doors open at 5:30pm. New this year, the festival will span two nights over Labor Day weekend on Friday and Saturday.

Ozomatli will be headlining on Friday night, with their family-friendly, worldly fusion of hip hop, salsa, dancehall, funk, and reggae medleys. The band is known for the political activism and community involvement behind their music.

Galactic will be headlining on Saturday night, with their New Orleans influenced mix of percussion, world music and funk. The group has released ten albums and has toured with a diverse group of artists from the likes of Widespread Panic to B.B. King.

Joining the Spruce Moose lineup on Friday night is Cure For The Common and In Walks Bud. On Saturday night is House of Vibes featuring Chali 2na, founding member of Jurassic 5, Golden Grenade, and Jespy.

In conjunction with the Spruce Moose festival, Big Sky Resort will have Mountain Fest during the day on Saturday, August 31, 2013 starting with a 5k trail run at 9am. There will be kid friendly activities including a bouncy house, inflatable slide, and face painting, in addition to Big Sky Resort's everyday activities of the bungee trampoline, giant swing, climbing wall and more.

Complete with food vendors, merchandise and live music, Lone Peak is the backdrop to the outdoor Spruce Moose festival at the base area of Big Sky Resort. Dressing in layers is advised as the late summer weather can be chilly in the evenings.
