Terms and Conditions for Big Sky Resort Lift Tickets and Season Passes, Mountain Sports Lessons, Ski and Snowboard Rentals, Activities, Bike Haul Tickets, and Bike Haul Passes.
- Big Sky Resort winter Season Passes, and summer Bike Haul Season Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Big Sky Resort winter and summer Season Passes may be eligible for an E-voucher credit per our Season Pass Cancellation Policy**. Winter Lift Tickets, Mountain Sports Lessons, Equipment Rentals, Activities, and Bike Haul Tickets are eligible for our Activity Cancellation Policy*. If the qualifications are met, Cancellation Requests made within 48 hours will be eligible for an E-Voucher that can be used towards another online purchase at shop.bigskyresort.com.
*Activity Cancellation Policy -- For Winter Lift Tickets, Mountain Sports Lessons, Rentals, Activities, and Summer Bike Haul tickets:
Requests made 48 hours prior to product's start date can be issued a full refund as long as the guest fills out the Cancellation Request form more than 48 hours before the start date of the product, they can verify the last four digits of the card of original purchase, and can verify that the card is still active. Requests made within 48 hours of the product start date will be issued an E-voucher credit only if supporting documentation is provided specifically stating the inability to participate. Requests after the product start date will be denied.
**Big Sky Resort Winter Season Pass Cancellations:
Requests made prior to Big Sky Resort winter season opening day, for the season that the pass is valid, will be provided an E-Voucher that will be valid through December 1st of the following winter season.Requests made on or after opening day of the winter season will require supporting documentation of an injury that prevented skiing during the season. No requests will be accepted after 3/31 of the season for which the pass is valid. For any injury related requests if a pass is used, the formula is: Pass price - window lift ticket rate of each day used = E-Voucher total
**Big Sky Resort Summer Bike Haul Season Pass Cancellations:
Requests made prior to opening day of the summer season for which the pass is valid will be provided an E-Voucher that will be valid through December 1st of the following year. Requests made on or after opening day of the summer season will require supporting documentation of an injury to be provided. No requests will be accepted after 8/31 of the season for which the pass is valid. For any injury-related requests if a pass is used, the formula is: Pass price - window lift ticket rate of each day used = E - Voucher total - All Lift Ticket and Pass Holders shall be referred to as Applicants below and agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Big Sky Resort lift tickets and passes are issued to the Applicant only and are nontransferable (either for money or general use) and nonrefundable. Individuals who misuse pass privileges by allowing their ticket or pass to be used by others invalidate the pass and are committing a crime punishable under Mont. Code Ann. § 45-6-305.
- Lift Ticket and Pass Holders have a duty to immediately report lost or stolen tickets or passes to the Mountain Services Office at 1-(800) 548-4486. There will be a replacement fee of $5.00. Tickets and passes that are lost or stolen and not reported immediately will be handled in the same manner as a misused pass. Damaged tickets or passes which do not work properly will be replaced free of charge.
- Applicant's age for appropriate ticket or pass product will be determined as of 12/1 of the applicable pass year. Please purchase the correct, age-appropriate product for each applicant. If purchased products are incorrect, Big Sky Resort will charge the difference in original purchase price and the full season rate for the correct, age-appropriate product.
- The Applicant agrees to have this ticket or pass ready to be scanned each time he/she boards a lift. At any time while on the mountain, the Applicant may be required to present his/her ticket or pass to a Big Sky Employee.
- The Applicant fully understands that violating any of the rules and regulations of Big Sky Resort, including any resort outlet, may be cause for suspension or permanent revocation of his/her ticket or pass. In addition to suspension or revocation of a ticket or pass, violations may also result in the Applicant being subject to criminal charges under Montana Law. Some of the actions that may result in ticket or pass suspension or revocation include, but are not limited to, the following:
Reckless or careless skiing ~ Skiing outside ski area boundaries unless accessed by proper gates ~ Skiing any closed trails ~ Skiing of any trail or area not open for skiing ~Ducking ropes ~ Lift line crashing ~ Intoxication or drug use ~ The use of profanity or general rudeness towards any patron, invitee or employee of Big Sky Resort ~ Harassment, hindrance, or obstruction in any way of any patron, invitee or employee of Big Sky Resort ~ Any fraudulent, illegal, or unauthorized use of the season pass ~ Collision with other skiers caused by the Applicant's negligence ~ Vandalism or theft of property ~ Loading or unloading from any ski lift except at regular stations ~ Skiing/riding in a manner inconsistent with the Skier Responsibility Code - Big Sky Resort tickets and passes are issued solely for the private use and enjoyment of the Applicant. The Applicant is prohibited from using their ticket or pass for any business purposes of any nature and shall not conduct any business or solicit any business of any nature or description within Big Sky Resort without the prior written approval of Big Sky Resort.
- The Applicant understands and agrees that he/she assumes the risk of variable conditions. No guarantee or promises for the conditions or the days of operation are made to the Applicant. The Applicant must understand that certain ski trails and ski lifts may be closed for certain periods of time due to maintenance, repairs, and/or conditions; the Applicant is not eligible for any compensation for lift closures or stoppages.
- The Applicant acknowledges and agrees that Big Sky Resort, in its sole discretion, can refuse to sell a ticket or pass to any Applicant.
- THE APPLICANT UNDERSTANDS THAT ALL TICKET AND PASS PRODUCTS ARE NONREFUNDABLE AND NONTRANSFERABLE UNLESS EXPRESSLY DESCRIBED IN THIS DOCUMENT.
- KNOW AND OBSERVE ‘YOUR RESPONSIBILITY CODE’
Winter sports involve risk of serious injury and death. Your knowledge, decisions and actions contribute to your safety and that of others. If you need help understanding the Code, please ask any ski area employee.
- Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.
- People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.
- Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
- Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
- You must prevent runaway equipment.
- Read and obey all signs, warnings and hazard markings.
- Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
- You must know how and be able to load, ride and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.
- Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
- If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.
