Ramcharger 8 and Swift Current 6 provide beautiful scenic views of the mountains. Ride up and take some time to explore the mountain from a higher elevation. When you're ready, take the lift down, or if you're feeling adventurous, one of the hiking trails down to the Village. Please note that Explorer cannot be ridden downhill and the only way down is via the Huckleberry trail.

Guided Scenic Lift Experience

This one-hour guided experience will take you around the mountain via chairlift. Learn about Big Sky Resort and our natural surroundings like the local flora and fauna, geology, and more. Family hiking at Big Sky Resort

All our summer chairlifts access hiking trails of varying difficulties. Taking the chairlift up and hiking down is a great way to see the mountain in different ways. Not sure where to go? Take on the trails with an expert in one of our Guided Hikes.

The easiest of the hiking trails is Huckleberry, accessible by the Explorer chair. Explorer also accesses the Dreamweaver trail and Otter Way.

Swift Current 6 features the Moose Tracks trail and serves as a boost for those looking to do the advanced Bone Crusher or Summit Climb hikes.

Ramcharger 8 can be explored by the Thimbleberry trail, as well as a short hike from the top of the lift to the summit of Andesite Mountain.

Always go prepared. See our hiking page for more information.
