Scenic Lift Ride
Take a scenic chairlift ride in Big Sky. Whether you're hiking from higher grounds or taking in the views, a chairlift ride is a fun activity for all ages.
Planned season dates: June 8 - September 15
Ramcharger 8 is scheduled to operate 7 days a week all season. Swift Current 6 and Explorer are scheduled to operate Thursday - Sunday until June 30th and 7 days a week from July 1st - September 15th.
Scenic lift tickets allow you to ride our summer chairlifts—Ramcharger 8, Swift Current 6, and Explorer—as many times as you wish throughout the day. Tickets are required to ride the lifts.

Guided Scenic Lift Experience
This one-hour guided experience will take you around the mountain via chairlift. Learn about Big Sky Resort and our natural surroundings like the local flora and fauna, geology, and more. On the chair, you'll take in the sweeping views of Lone Mountain and the Spanish Peaks. The Guided Scenic Lift Experience is private and customizable to your group.
Hiking
All our summer chairlifts access hiking trails of varying difficulties. Taking the chairlift up and hiking down is a great way to see the mountain in different ways. Not sure where to go? Take on the trails with an expert in one of our Guided Hikes.
The easiest of the hiking trails is Huckleberry, accessible by the Explorer chair. Explorer also accesses the Dreamweaver trail and Otter Way.
Swift Current 6 features the Moose Tracks trail and serves as a boost for those looking to do the advanced Bone Crusher or Summit Climb hikes.
Ramcharger 8 can be explored by the Thimbleberry trail, as well as a short hike from the top of the lift to the summit of Andesite Mountain.
