Season Pass FAQs

  • Big Sky Resort offers a variety of season passes to fit your needs and budget. You can find your perfect pass based on how often you ski, what days you ski, and whether or not you want access to the Lone Peak Tram. Explore all of Big Sky's season passes. Big Sky Resort is also included on the Ikon and Mountain Collective passes.

  • Our passes offer more value for frequent skiers at Big Sky Resort. All passholders receive discounts on retail, dining, lodging, and Basecamp activities. For passes with blackout dates or limited access, you can save on purchasing lift tickets when your pass isn't valid.

  • Season passes can be purchased from our online store.

  • Select Big Sky season passes include Tram rides. The Gold pass includes unlimited access to the Lone Peak Tram (scenic rides and skier/snowboarder rides), and the Double Black pass includes 25 skier/snowboarder rides and 10 scenic rides for the season. All other Big Sky season passes do not include any form of Lone Peak Tram access and must enable Autocharge and provide a valid form of payment on their Big Sky Account at shop.bigskyresort.com.

  • Gold Passes have the option to add on the Ikon Base pass which includes 5+ days at over 50 resorts worldwide.

    Gold, Double Black, and Black passes get 50% off lift tickets at Mountain Collective Resorts, and three days of skiing plus 50% off additional tickets at Boyne Sister Resorts.

    All other passes are for Big Sky Resort access only.

  • Blue, Green, Flex+, Freestyle, and Twin Tips Passes are subject to the following blackout dates. 

    2023-24 Season:

    • December 26 - 31, 2023
    • January 13 - 14, 2024
    • February 17 - 18, 2024

    2024-25 Season:

    • December 26 - 31, 2024
    • January 18 - 19, 2025
    • February 15 - 16, 2025

    Passholders can take advantage of $40 off the window ticket rate to access the mountain on days their pass is not valid. Discounted tickets must be purchased day-of at the ticket windows.

  • Ski 44 days in the early and late season with your Twin Tips Pass over the following dates:

    • November 27 - December 13, 2024
    • April 1 - 27, 2025

    Passes are only valid for their designated season.

  • Big Sky Resort does not offer refunds for season passes. If you decide not to use your pass before the season begins, you can get a credit for your unused pass with our Pass Cancellation program. Exceptions may be made for season-ending circumstances including injuries, loss of job, or work relocation.

  • Yes, you can upgrade your season pass to a higher tier if the desired pass is still on sale. Please call our Mountain Services office at (406) 995-4486 for more information.

  • No, we do not allow passes to be downgraded.

  • No, Big Sky Resort season passes are non-transferable. Gold, Double Black, and 2024-25 Black Passes get Buddy Tickets to share discounted lift tickets with friends and family!

  • Season passes and any other items purchased in the Big Sky Online Store can be paid for with payment plans offered by Affirm. The cart size must be over $250 to qualify. Choose the Payment Plan option as your payment type in our online store during checkout. Learn more about payment plans offered by Affirm.

  • Children of Big Sky Resort Passholders aged 0-6 are eligible for free season passes. This pass gives the child unlimited access to Big Sky Resort. This pass does not come with additional benefits or tram access. For your child to enjoy the tram please add tram Autocharge on your child's account. A child's parent or legal guardian must be a Big Sky Resort season pass holder for the child to qualify for a Child Pass. Please visit the Mountain Services office once the guardian has purchased their season pass to obtain your child’s pass.
