We’re collaborating with and investing in our Big Sky community.
Workforce Housing
Big Sky Resort employs up to 1,800 people at its peak season. Many of those employees are seasonal, and Big Sky Resort continues to develop and supply housing for its team members. Not only does this help reduce housing limitations in the Big Sky area, but it also reduces employee commuting. Many of the units Big Sky Resort offers are within walking distance of the resort, which frees up transportation infrastructure for others in the community.
Team Member Transportation
Guest Transportation
Big Sky Resort partners with Tradewater to allow our guests to offset the carbon footprint of their trip to Big Sky by destroying harmful refrigerants.
In 2022, Big Sky Resort converted the Gold Pass lot into a Carpool Lot offering priority parking to guests who drive to the resort in vehicles of 3 or more people.
Our Winter 2022-23 season-long Ride Together, Shred Forever carpool program in partnership with GoGallatin, incentivizes skiers to carpool to the resort. Skiers have logged over 2,350 carpool trips, resulting in 22 tons of carbon emissions avoided through this program.
Big Sky Community Climate Action Plan
Big Sky Resort was a key participant in the development of the Big Sky Community Climate Action Plan, prepared by Big Sky SNO. The Resort participates in Climate Action Plan Implementation as a working group member of all four Targeted Improvement Priority areas: Energy & Buildings, Transportation, Consumption & Waste, and Natural Environment.
