Family Itinerary

Day 1

  • 2PM: Arrive at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. Hop on a shuttle to Big Sky Resort. Keep your eyes peeled on the ride for bighorn sheep and bald eagles.
  • 3:30PM: Head to Mountain Sports School to check in the day before lessons start, making tomorrow an easy morning to get on the slopes.
  • 4PM: Check in to the Beaverhead condominiums, located slopeside in Mountain Village.
  • 5PM: Order in a pizza from PizzaWorks in Mountain Village.
  • 6PM: Your rental delivery from Big Sky Sports has arrived. Eat pizza and try on your new gear in the comfort of your own condo.
  • 9PM: It's snowing. Catch some zzz's before tomorrow's day on the slopes.

Day 2

  • 8AM: It's the first day of school – Mountain Sports School that is! After a quick breakfast at the condo, head down to Mountain Village to check in to Big Sky Mountain Sports School.
  • 10AM: Check out the new Ramcharger 8 chairlift, the first 8-person chairlift in North America. From there, ski some of the best groomers on the mountain off the Southern Comfort chairlift.
  • 12PM: Stop for a gourmet lunch at Everett's 8800, located at the top of Ramcharger 8 with 300 degrees of views of Lone Peak.
  • 1PM: Head back out for a couple more runs.
  • 3PM: Pick the kids up from ski school for some après fun.
  • 4PM: Walk to Chet's Restaurant for Chet's Family Après. Enjoy games, drink and food specials (for adults and children), and a kid-focused menu – including some sweet treats after a day on the hill. Menu options are uniquely Montana, including bison queso with buffalo chips, bacon mac & beer cheese bites, huckleberry barbeque wings.
  • 6PM: Reward yourself after a day on the hill. Take advantage of complimentary access to the pool and hot tub at the Huntley Lodge. While the kids play in the pool, relax your muscles in the hot tub with a glass of wine and views of Lone Peak.

Day 3

  • 8AM: Wake up to fresh snow on the ground and the kids are heading back to Mountain Sports School for their second day of lessons. After dropping them off, you have the rest of the day to explore all of Big Sky's 5,850 acres of terrain.
  • 10AM: While the kids are conquering magic carpets and magic forests, catch the Lone Peak Tram up to the highest point of Big Sky Resort, 11,166 feet, and cruise down Liberty Bowl for turns with a view.
  • 12PM: Head down to Peaks Restaurant for a skier's express lunch buffet, in the Summit Hotel.
  • 2PM: Turn in the skis early today to explore Basecamp activities like the climbing wall, giant swing and Nature Zipline.
  • 7PM: A hearty Italian dinner at Andiamo will prepare you for the day ahead.

Day 4

  • 8AM: It's the third and final day of Mountain Sports School for the kids. Once they are settled in to ski school, head out for a couple runs to explore the new Shedhorn quad.
  • 10AM: Head over to Shedhorn to check out the new high-speed Shedhorn quad.
  • 12PM: Reward yourself and your legs for with a mid-morning break on the newly-expanded deck at the Shedhorn Grill. Montana's sunshine will beg you to stay on the deck, but adventure on the slopes will beckon you back to the chairlift. After a couple more runs in the Bavarian Forest, head back to Mountain Village Base Area.
  • 1:30PM: Treat yourself. Nothing beats pampering by caring hands after a day on the mountain. A one-hour spa treatment awaits after a few long days on the slopes.
  • 3PM: Mountain Sports School pick up.
  • 6PM: Dinner at Everetts 8800. Ride the Ramcharger 8 chairlift (heated bubble and all) to the top of Andesite Mountain for a family dinner experience to remember.

Day 5

  • 8AM: Family Ski Day! It's a bluebird day and the whole family is heading to Everett's First Tracks to watch the sun rise as your ski before anyone else. Relish in the perfectly manicured, buttery corduroy you've been dreaming of. Cap off an early ski morning with a cozy breakfast at Everett's 8800, at the top of Ramcharger 8.
  • 10AM: After breakfast, the kids want to go back to the Moonlight side to explore the kid's terrain.
  • 12PM: Grab a lunch at Headwaters Grill, on the Moonlight side of Big Sky Resort.
  • 2PM: Follow the kids as the lead the way through the kid's trails at Madison Base – showing off all their new skills from Mountain Sports School.
  • 6PM: Dinner at Montana Jack to cap off a well-spent week in the mountains.

Day 6

  • 8AM: No trip to Big Sky, Montana would be complete without a day at Yellowstone, the nation's first national park. Depart Big Sky and head towards the west entrance of the park in West Yellowstone.
  • 10AM: Meet your guide for a Wildlife Safari via snowcoach tour in the park. This complete wilderness wonderland can be explored via guided snowcoach, snowmobile, or by cross-country ski.
  • 12PM: From heated snowcoach, look for bison, wolves and eagles in Yellowstone's winter wonderland.
  • 1PM: Lunch in West Yellowstone.
  • 2PM: Head back to Big Sky Resort for an afternoon of relaxing in the hot tub while the kids play in the pool.
  • 5PM: Just down the hill from Big Sky Resort is Lone Mountain Ranch. Enjoy dinner at Horn and Cantle, sampling authentic Montana culinary using locally sourced ingredients with a unique perspective.

Day 7

  • 9AM: Enjoy a breakfast burrito at Lone Peak Café and reflect on fabulous family time and spectacular ski school accomplishments.
  • 11AM: It's one of those days you wish you could bottle up and stay in forever. However, you've got a flight to catch. Hop on your shuttle and head back to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport.

Big Mountain Skier Itinerary

Day 1

  • 2PM: Arrive at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. Hop on a shuttle to Big Sky Resort. Keep your eyes peeled on the ride for bighorn sheep and bald eagles.
  • 4PM: Check in to the Summit Hotel, at the heart of Big Sky's Mountain Village and just 100 yards from the new Ramcharger 8 chairlift.
  • 5PM: Settle in with some local Montana brews and bites at Montana Jack.
  • 9PM: It's snowing. Catch some zzz's before tomorrow's powder day!

Day 2

  • 8AM: A powder day beckons. Grab some coffee and a breakfast burrito at Lone Peak Café before heading out to catch first chair on Ramcharger 8, North America's first 8-person chairlift located just outside your door.
  • 10AM: Catch the Lone Peak Tram up to the highest point of Big Sky Resort, 11,166 feet, and cruise down Liberty Bowl for the deepest powder.
  • 12PM: It's been a deep morning. Head down to Peaks Restaurant for a skier's express lunch buffet, in the Summit Hotel.
  • 1PM: Head back out for a couple more runs.
  • 4PM: Après at Carabiner lounge and sip a specialty cocktail by the fireplace, or head to Hummers for a super casual, “wear-your-ski-boots-to-the-bar” kind of après among Big Sky die-hard skiers and locals.
  • 7PM: A hearty Italian dinner at Andiamo will prepare you for the day ahead.

Day 3

  • 8AM: It's a bluebird day and you're heading to Everett's First Tracks to watch the sun rise as your ski before anyone else. Your guide will show you the best stashes from yesterday's storm. Cap off an early ski morning with a cozy breakfast at Everett's 8800, at the top of Ramcharger 8.
  • 10AM: Head over to Shedhorn to check out the new high-speed Shedhorn quad. Reward yourself and your legs for with a mid-morning break on the newly-expanded deck at the Shedhorn Yurt. Montana's sunshine will beg you to stay on the deck, but adventure on the slopes will beckon you back to the chairlift.
  • 12PM: Grab a lunch at Headwaters Grill, on the Moonlight side of Big Sky Resort, and fuel up for a hike up the Headwaters and some of the best lines of your trip.
  • 3PM: It's one of those days you wish you could bottle up and stay in forever. However, you've got a flight to catch. Hop on your shuttle and head back to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport.
