Signature Experiences
Don’t miss out on these only-in-Big-Sky signature experiences that make your trip special. Explore what makes Big Sky more than a mountain.
Life’s most impactful moments happen when we engage our senses. When we immerse ourselves in nature, we are present and quiet our busy minds. The feeling of your first breath in the cool mountain air. The exhilaration of mastering a new skill. The taste of hot chocolate. The sound of wind moving through the forest.
Lone Mountain is our connection, whether you're skiing the Big Couloir, learning about summer wildflowers as you ride the chair, or gazing at the peak listening to live music in the plaza. We're biased, sure, but there's something special about this place, and you'll feel it, too.
The Edge of Possibility

Journey to the top of Lone Peak
Embark on a journey that will move you through the mountains. Experience Kircliff, perched at 11,166 feet: a two-story glass observation deck reaching out over terrain shaped by millions of years. Travel as a skier or walking guest on two of the most seamless and innovative works of ski technology in North America—the Explorer Gondola and Lone Peak Tram—as you make your way deeper into the heart of the mountain and up to the peak.
Kircliff Glass Observatory
From the summit of Lone Mountain, immerse yourself in the mountains—from the sharpness of dramatic peaks, the soft expanse of untouched snowfields, and the thrill of standing above it all. Atop Lone Peak, Montana's highest scenic overlook at 11,166 feet reveals more than ten mountain ranges, two national parks, and three states. Step onto the glass floor that dares you to look down, deeper into the power of the mountains.

Skiing Lone Peak
The Lone Peak Tram is the gateway to some of Big Sky Resort’s most unique, challenging, and exciting terrain. The easiest run off of Lone Peak is Liberty Bowl, an advanced run. For the more adventurous, a variety of dynamic runs await, including some of the most extreme in-bounds terrain in the country.
