The Snow Report
The Snow Report
Good Morning Skiers & Snowboarders, this is Mario with your Big Sky Snow Report for Monday March 18, 2024.
No new snow for a handful of days here on Lone Mountain, but our thermonuclear microwave has done a wonderful job of reheating our leftovers and providing delicious mashed potatoes and corn snow. Today you can expect blue skies, slushy snow, and skiing in a hoodie-- something you just can't normally do for most of the season on this mountain. Temps have dipped just below freezing on most of the mountain through the night, but that sun should start warming things up quickly this morning.
Today's temperatures are expected to range between 28°F and 45°F with mid mountain temps in the 30's, and winds are expected to be calm and out of the West at 5-15mph. All of this under absolute bluebird skies.
It's that time of the year where you can really feel a difference in temperature between when you get on the lift, and when you get off. Our lower mountain is like a tanning bed, but don't worry our base is holding up strong for now, and there's even a chance for snow to come back around later this week. It's always spring break somewhere I think. As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
**Please, remember that unmarked obstacles and hazards exist and are prevalent so ski and ride safe. Always ski/ride with a partner and keep your partner in sight at all times. Please honor our SLOW skiing and riding zones to protect yourself and other guests.
Don't have lift tickets yet or need to add an extra day? Be sure to purchase in advance to help you hit the mountain as quickly as possible and guarantee the best rates. Buy online by visiting https://bigskyresort.com/lift-tickets.
