Rental & Demo FAQs
Rentals can be booked online or in person. We can run out of rentals over busy periods, so we recommend booking in advance. Rentals are available online 24 hours in advance.
For same-day rentals, please visit a rental shop in person.
Ski-only and snowboard-only rentals can be booked online. Helmet-only, pole-only, and boot-only rentals are available to walk-ins only and subject to availability.

Winter Equipment
Big Sky Resort has two winter base areas—Mountain Village and Madison Base—where we offer ski and snowboard equipment rentals. You can pick up your rentals at any location without advance notice.
Mountain Village is our main base area with lots of amenities and the main hub for most guests. The Big Sky Sports rental shop is located in the Snowcrest Lodge. There are also locations for hotel guests in the Summit Hotel and Huntley Lodge to pick up their rentals.
For guests staying near Moonlight Basin, Madison Base also offers rentals. Guest staying at the Montage can rent equipment through Compass Sports. Guest staying at the One & Only can rent equipment from the hotel.
Nordic ski rentals can be picked up at the Nordic Center in Meadow Village.
Summer Equipment
If you rent a mountain bike, you will pick up your bike from the Adventure Center. Located in Snowcrest Lodge in Mountain Village.

In the summer, bike rentals must be returned before 5 p.m. daily or 7 p.m. on Sunset Hour days (Friday-Sunday starting July 3) to the Adventure Center in Mountain Village.
In the winter, rental equipment must be returned before 4:30 p.m. on the final day of your rental reservation to any Big Sky Sports location.
Late fees will be charged for equipment returned after these times.
