The Snow Report
The Snow Report
Good Morning Skiers & Snowboarders, this is Mario with your Big Sky Snow Report for Wednesday March 27, 2024.
3" overnight and 3" yesterday brings us to 6" in the last 24 hours resort wide. Those steady but calm Northwest winds have continued to load up the South Face, dropping about a foot of snow into Liberty Bowl in that same timeframe. The winds haven't shifted yet, but they're expected to pickup at some point today, which would really start moving all of this new low density snow around. There's a chance for more sun today which means we can expect better viz than we've seen in nearly a week. Anotha POW day! Can you believe it? Resort wide we're looking at a velvety layer of white wooly powder, stacked nicely on top of yesterday's leftovers, just asking to be carved through like butter.
Today's temperatures are expected to range between 9°F and 30°F with mid-mountain temps around 20°F, and winds are expected to pickup a bit, out of the Southwest at 10-20mph, gusting to 35mph. All of this under partly cloudy skies this morning, with more clouds rolling in this afternoon.
After some high-elevation aspects, the trees are catching the most snow. You really can't go wrong out there whether you're looking for some mellow glades on Andesite, or some tight steep trees on The North Side, and everything in between is skiing phenomenally well. Continued snow here and there throughout the rest of the week, which should have our already above average March finishing off quite strong. As always, remember to stay safe, and have fun out there.
**Please, remember that unmarked obstacles and hazards exist and are prevalent so ski and ride safe. Always ski/ride with a partner and keep your partner in sight at all times. Please honor our SLOW skiing and riding zones to protect yourself and other guests.
Don't have lift tickets yet or need to add an extra day? Be sure to purchase in advance to help you hit the mountain as quickly as possible and guarantee the best rates. Buy online by visiting https://bigskyresort.com/lift-tickets.
