In Summer 2021, Big Sky added its largest ever snowmaking operation. Starting at the top of the Explorer Lift, the new system covers 33 acres across 3 trails and 2 terrain parks. Paired with the upgraded Swift Current 6 chairlift, this region of the mountain can be utilized in the early season with reduced reliance on snowfall.
